about me
My name is Claire Gorey and I am a ceramics student at Trinity Episcopal School. I was born in Richmond, VA and have lived here ever since. I started kindergarten at The Steward School and changed schools in fifth grade. I then moved to St. Michael's and grew further in my education there. When I was younger, I loved playing with model magic and play-dough. Throughout my elementary and middle school years, I didn't have many opportunities to work with clay as much as I wanted to. When I learned about the ceramics program at Trinity, I knew that was something I wanted to do; and I am so glad I did. From pinch pots to throwing bowls and plates, I have learned so many things about clay. One of the most important things I have learned is that things don't always turn out the way you want them to, and that is ok. You might place one of your favorite pots in the kiln and it might crack or explode. You have to be open and experiment a lot. But, even if something doesn't turn out the way you want it to, you can't stress about it. Sometimes it even turns out for the better.
